Sharalee has always been in love with KC Tanner, the only trouble is, is that he still sees her as a little girl. The murders that are going on in town start to get a little too close for comfort for Sharale. Will she ever get the chance to let KC know that she has always loved him? Will he ever see her as more than just a lil girl? This was a very good suspenseful book. It kept me on the edge on my seat and is on my keeper shelf for sure. ![]() Deputy Detective KC Tanner was the only homicide detective in the small town of Pine Knot. Nothing big ever happened in the tiny community. That was why KC had left the big city and returned to his hometown. Pine Knot's sheriff, Mike "Mac" MacArthur, had once been KC's partner on the police force. The two had known each other for years. In fact, KC had watched Mac's little girl grown up into a lovely young woman. Sharalee "Shar" MacArthur was the area's Victim's Advocate. Shar had a crush on KC since she was little. As she grew, the crush matured into love. Problem was that KC kept seeing her as a child and her father was keeping everyone away from her. It was up to her to show them both how wrong they were. When tortured bodies began showing up, KC was naturally the one assigned to the case. But the only solid link between them all were that all the victims had been attached, in some way, to Sheriff MacArthur's deceased wife. What was a man to do when it looked as though his ex-partner and close friend might be a murderer? Here is a wonderful detective thriller that will leave your head spinning. Every time I thought I knew who the killer was another twist came up that had me wondering all over again. There is even a surprise ending! Patricia A. Rasey is an author to keep your eye on. She gets better with each new story. Recommended reading. **** Detra Fitch, HUNTRESS REVIEWS
![]() FAÇADE is a well-written thriller that moves at a fast pace and has lots of graphic scenes. K.C. Tanner and Sharalee MacArthur add romance to a tale of betrayal, revenge and murder. Nothing is, as it seems. The secondary character of Mike MacArthur is a man I didn't know whether to feel sorry for or dislike. If you have read any of Patricia Rasey's other books, you know she does not wrap them up in a pretty package and this one is no different. This is a keeper. Hattie Boyd, from Scribes World Reviews

![]() A series of gruesome murders plagues the small town of Pine Knot, Kentucky, each based on an ancient form of torture. The first victim is discovered crucified, a sign with the word ADULTERY nailed behind his head. Another is drawn and quartered, a third buried in the ground to his neck. Each murder more heinous than the previous, the clues seem to tie in with a woman long dead and a mysterious voice on the phone--and a dozen Black Magic roses delivered to the victim's next of kin. The protagonist, Deputy Detective KC Tanner, quickly finds himself embroiled in a tense and deadly game of hidden secrets, dark lust and seething guilt. Throw in a beautiful Sheriff's daughter and a desperate struggle against his repressed desires and you've got a whopper of a conflagration just waiting for a spark. Ms. Rasey provides the whole flame and the results are explosive. POD (Print on Demand) books have taken a pretty good knock lately, and had anyone asked me a few weeks ago I might have had to agree with them. But Facade should prove once and for all a book should be judged by the writer and their tale and not the method of imprint. The production on this book is first class, easily as professional as most books coming from New York Publishers. Mr. Zaber's classy cover, quality stock and careful typesetting all add up to an attractive and well-conceived package. Ms. Rasey weaves a tale of intrigue, creates well-developed characters and turns on enough steam to take the wrinkles out of a nun's habit. Shocking, gripping, and sensual, with prose smooth as satin, you'll want to make sure the doors are bolted and the windows locked after turning the last page. Howard Hopkins author of Grimm and Night Demons
![]() Very Highly recommended Facade by Pat Rasey is a heart-stopping, adrenaline-pumping novel that you dare not start at bedtime if you intend to be up in the morning. Addictive from the first shocking page, Facade will reveal the dangers that lurk beneath the most innocent appearances. Rasey has an extraordinary talent for creating characters with depth and complexity, while weaving a quick-moving plot that lures the reader into a world of murder and intrigue. Extraordinarily, Rasey can capture the essence of a brutal murder all the while maintaining a sexy, lusty subplot with sharp quips counterbalanced by grace. While all of Raseys novels are hits, this is the best one yet, earning a very highly recommended rating and an Award of Excellence from WordWeaving. Cindy Penn, Word Weaving

![]() *****Highly Recommended Pat Rasey grows more and more adept in intricately weaving a complex, layered plot with flawed, yet lovable characters and a love story that will melt your heart. Facade is by far the best work Rasey has written to date. Not only is this book overflowing with heart-pounding suspense and fascinating details of police forensics, but also gruesome minutiae of sadistic murder. And the love scenes are so scorchingly hot that theyll melt the paint off the walls. The intensity of her approach to her latest prose matches that of Diehl and Harris, so the squemish beware. The pacing is fast and the writing is perfect. Not one word is wasted nor a moment dull. Thriller devotees will be up all night, as I was, riveted to this page-turner. Pat Rasey demonstrates yet again, why shes become an author to reckon with. Janice K. Wagner, Royal Scribe Reviews

![]() 5 Stars Patricia Rasey has penned an outstanding book! Facade is a spine tingling read from start to finish with equal parts murder and romance. Ms. Rasey leads you to believe you know who the killer is, and then yanks your chain, and swings you in a whole other direction! You'll find yourself wondering who will be the next victim and in what atrocious way are they going to be murdered. The biggest mystery will be why?! You not only get a murder mystery in Facade, but you also get a lot of great sexual tension between KC and Sharalee, that builds to it's climactic explosion right along with the murder and mayhem. If you are clever enough to figure out who did it, you still won't believe what you get hit in the face with at the end! Stacey Bucholz, Murder List
![]() Patricia A. Rasey is a Master Manipulator! She manipulates her story in such a way that the villain could be any number of people. The reader is kept in the throes of suspense until the very last few pages. This book had me clicking the buttons on my Rocket so quickly that the pages practically became a blur. I was on the edge of my seat biting my nails through this whole intriguing book. As with all of Pat's books, the ending came as quite a surprise! I avidly look forward to Pat's next book if my heart can take it Kathy Boswell
![]() I was a little surprised that this book moved so quickly, like a great horror movie, and that was exactly how it seemed. Set in small towns in Kentucky, it is a tale of lust, love, and revenge that keeps moving in many directions. Once you think you know who the killer might be, it doubles back and takes you on a totally different path, but still moving you to where you need to be. Secrets and past sins fuel the fires for the story. Our detective, KC Tanner, and his assistant, Sharalee MacArthur, dive into the killer's mind from the outside, which takes them a bit too close to the action than they ever want to be. Signs and signals flash out at the readers, and you become just as much a part of the story as the characters themselves. As most good horror movies, the show never really ends, and it seems that this is the way this story runs, too. So for a great adrenaline rush, and a lock-your-doors, and sleep-with-the-lights-on story, it's got to be Facade! Rhonda Drummond, MyShelf.com
![]() Pat Rasey has arrived onto the Romance Mystery/Suspense scene in grand style, and she's here to stay. Every book she writes gets better and better. In FAÇADE, she's written a story that will have every hair follicle on your body itching and tingling. As your mind travels the maze of clues she so subtly lets slip, you will find yourself as frustrated as Mac and KC at who's doing the killing--and why. Even if you suspect who the killer is before it's revealed you'll be totally amazed at how beautifully she hid it from you for so long. What I love about this story is the strength of the characters, even the bad ones. KC is a man of integrity and deep convictions who is genuinely tortured over his past and his growing feelings for Sharalee. I found him so in need that I was pulling for him all the way. And Sharalee, being the scamp she is, is delightful to learn about as she pushes and prods KC into noticing her. All she wants is for him to love her. This makes for both heart-warming and tension-filled moments between the two. Add Mac and the killer into the mix and you have a story that's hard to put down and even harder to forget when you've finished it. This is Ms Rasey's third book, and you'll want look for her other titles. They can be found at DSP. The titles are KISS OF DECEIT and DEADLY OBSESSION. FAÇADE is a must-have for lovers of Romantic Suspense/Mystery. You won't be the least disappointed. I wasn't. ©Jaycee April 2001, Timeless Tales
