5 Hearts

Craylen Wayne Rollins III is heir to a vast fortune but chooses to make his living running a string of successful gambling dens. Drinking and gambling his nights away, always with a beautiful woman on his arm, he lives the life that he loves and answers to no one. That life is turned upside down when he compromises the virtue of a lady, mistaking her for a prostitute he had asked to be sent to his hotel room. The girl's mother, a maid and his own parents burst into the room just as he is about to make love to her. Even though he knows he has been set up, Craylen agrees to marry her, but he vows to make her pay for her treachery.

Ariel Marie Montgomery has no idea how she had ended up in Craylen's bed but suspects her mother was somehow behind it. She knows her mother would do anything to keep her from marrying her true love, Tanner McCabe. Despite her love for Tanner and Craylen's obvious dislike of her, Ariel feels an intense desire for the infuriating Craylen.

Ariel and Craylen are both haunted by demons from the past. Both believe the ordeals they have gone through make them unworthy of love. They must learn to trust each other with their secrets before greed and jealousy destroy their chance at the happiness they crave.

In this sequel to LAWFULLY YOURS, Ms. Rasey weaves an intricate web of secrets and schemes that ensnares the reader. Her characters are fabulous. They have to deal with some serious issues, and she gives them the right mix of strength, smarts and understanding to do it. Craylen's baby brother, Henry, adds some delightful comic relief while carrying out his mischievous pranks. This suspenseful, passionate tale is a definite keeper.

5 STARS!

Craylen "Cray" Rollins ordered for a woman to be in his bed when he retired, but he did not expect to be trapped into marriage! But when Adelaine Montgomery burst into the room and claimed he had ruined her daughter, who was still in his bed, he knew he was trapped! He may have to marry Ariel, but he would make her life miserable from then on!

Ariel Montgomery had no idea how she ended up in Cray's bed. Then she learned her devious mother had done the whole thing. Ariel was in love with Tanner McCabe. Adelaine not only kept Ariel from marrying Tanner, but made sure Ariel was compromised and HAD to marry Cray. How could Ariel ever hope for a happy marriage with Cray when he thought SHE had been in on her mother's scheme? Ariel had another need to worry as well. As a child, her father had molested her. When Cray eventually found out on their wedding night that she was not chaste, he would assume the worst. There would be no happily-ever-after in this marriage.

***** More goes on than I tell in this brief synopsis. Rest assured that you will never get bored with this novel. There are several sub-plots to keep this story moving at a quick pace and several humorous spots as well. Outstanding! *****

Craylen Wayne Rollins III wants a woman for the night. However, fate has other plans. Ariel doesn’t know how she got into his room but she is thoroughly compromised in their parents’ eyes. Thus, these two unwilling participants are being forced to marry each other. When Ariel arrives for her wedding, Cray is attracted to her but he fights it. He still believes Ariel and her mother schemed to trap him into matrimony. Ariel has always been subjected to her mother’s machinations before but she barely has any memory of what happened that night. She wanted to marry Tanner McCabe but she is stuck with Cray.

Cray is the brooding alpha hero. He is handsome, rich and has no problem attracting women. He is also carrying emotional baggage from his past. Ariel is a beautiful, kind and intelligent girl. She wants to be loved but also suffering from emotional scars. These two wounded souls can heal each other if they give their relationship a chance. Of course, into this mix, you have a wild array of supporting characters. More importantly, these are not extraneous characters to fluff up the storyline; they contribute to the story and help it to progress in a positive direction.

This book covers many darker topics: racism, rape and incest. It is not a lighthearted read, as these topics will tug on your emotions. This was a sequel to an earlier book by Ms. Rasey. The reviewer believes that if we had read the earlier book, this one would have been easier to follow as the main characters from that book is prominently featured in this one. However, the reviewer still found it a quick and enjoyable read.

Craylen Wayne Rollins, a self made man, never wants to marry; all he wants is a night of pleasure with a prostitute. When he walks into his hotel room and sees the beautiful Ariel Marie Montgomery half dressed and in his bed, he believes he is about to get his wish. However, just as he is about to bed the lady, his parents and her mother come barging into the room. Now he finds himself trapped into an engagement he wants nothing to do with, and he vows to get even.

Ariel Montgomery's life changed forever on that fateful night. Before then all she wanted out of life was to marry Tanner McCabe, but fate and her mother are not on her side. Ariel has always been a victim of her mother's schemes, and this one is no different. Ariel still cannot remember most of the night in the hotel, just fuzzy bits and pieces of it. She does however remember Cray, and what he said to her before he left to go home. He thinks she is the one who trapped him into marriage, but she knows it was all her mother's doing.

When Ariel arrives at Cray's house before the wedding is to take place, Cray is still shocked by her beauty, and a part of him wants to make her his wife. Ariel finds him condescending and rude, and would like nothing more than to walk out of his house and out of his life forever. The two soon realize they are perfect for each other; however, they have a long journey ahead of them before they can be happy.

Cray and Ariel's story was first introduced in Patricia Rasey's book LAWFULLY YOURS, and I do recommend you read the books in order to better understand the events leading up to the engagement of Ariel and Cray. ETERNALLY YOURS has many charming secondary characters, including many from the previous book.

Although ETERNALLY YOURS has a few dark subjects, such as a murder and incest, it is a well written book with many twists and turns. Ms. Rasey introduces us to Matt, Cray's best friend, and what I hope is the start of his story. For a fast read that will have you hooked from page one, I recommend ETERNALLY YOURS.

Cray’s hotel room, in his bed with no memory of how she got there and now to save her reputation, is forced to marry him. Ariel believes her mother had something to do with it, but has no proof. Ariel has loved only one man, Tanner McCabe her whole life, her heart is shattered to have to walk away from him, but she had recently learned that he wasn’t the man she thought he was, so it’s for the better that they part ways. Ariel knows her soon-to-be husband hates her, yet she finds herself attracted to Cray and comes to care for him a great deal.

Cray wants to make Ariel Montgomery’s life hell. The conniving little witch and her mother trapped him into this marriage and he plans to make them both rue the day that they ever met him. But Cray’s plan backfires when his body and his heart take over. Cray can’t get the thoughts of Ariel out of his head, nor the thoughts of their wedding night, when he can finally make her his. Cray’s views of Ariel soon begin to change and he has a hard time connecting the sweet, compassionate Ariel he sees daily, to the conniving woman he believes her to be.

Will Ariel and Cray give each other a chance? Whatever happened to Ariel’s old flame Tanner McCabe? Will Ariel’s scheming mother ever learn her lesson?

Patricia A. Rasey pens a more emotional tale (for this reader) than previous tales that I have read of hers. ETERNALLY YOURS picks up where Lawfully Yours left off and with Ariel Montgomery, who we learned was Cheri’s half sister. The life and the pain that Ariel has endured brings tears to the eyes and a pain to the readers own heart. Ariel isn’t as strong as some of Ms. Rasey’s previous heroines, who stood up to their men and are ready to fight to the death for those they love. But Ariel is an amazing lady, one whose strength is inside, the strength to keep going after all the hellish things she has been through. ETERNALLY YOURS is a fast-paced, continual adventure and impossible to put down. A delightful addition to this tale was Cray’s sixteen year old brother, Henry, whose antics and pranks keep the household on its toes and Cray wondering what would happen next. Never a dull moment in a Patricia A. Rasey tale! Readers are also blessed with Ryder, a very pregnant Cheri and Joe coming for the Christmas holidays, bringing us more enjoyable and sassy dialogue between Ryder and Cheri. Another hit for Patricia A. Rasey and another keeper to add to one’s shelf. Cray and Ariel are two characters (Ryder and Cheri also), that will be hard to forget. I do hope to see a story of Cray’s friend Matt someday. I was left wondering where he was off to in such a hurry!

Patricia A. Rasey is an author who can write any genre and make it shine form her touch. I can’t wait to read more of her work very soon!

1870. Playboy Craylen Rollins' carefree, high-rolling Atlantic City lifestyle ends abruptly when the door to his hotel room bursts open and light from the hallway reveals he is about to violate a young lady and not the whore he requested from one of the hotel’s employees.

Outraged to find her daughter in such a compromising position, Adelaine Montgomery insists to a gathering crowd that the couple must marry to save Ariel’s reputation. Ariel’s pleas are ignored by her manipulative mother who staged the situation as a means to end the growing relationship between Ariel and a ‘half-breed’ man she has no intention of letting her daughter marry.

Mother and daughter Montgomery arrive at the Rollin’s manse with plenty of time to arrange a wedding for the first of the New Year. Cray avoids the conniving women as much as possible, but when forced to interact with Ariel, the tension is thick. The arrival of Cray’s younger brother Henry makes Ariel’s lonely and unwanted stay much more pleasant as they become good friends. Older brother Cliff, a lawyer, finds Adelaine a pleasant enough diversion but Craylen becomes even more inhospitable as his empty home fills with unwelcome visitors. Adding fuel to his unsociable mood is the growing attraction he feels for his unwanted bride-to-be.

Eternally Yours picks up where Lawfully Yours left off and goes it even one better. The action is non-stop and the carnal desire between Ariel and Cray will have you devouring its pages. Rasey’s vivid and exciting characters are never middle-of-the-road: you either love them or hate them—you may even switch alliances as you watch their characters grow and change. Is there any redemption for a man as self-possessed as Craylen Wayne Rollins III? Will Ariel’s secret ruin her chance of happiness with Cray? Will young Henry live long enough to reach his eighteenth birthday if he doesn’t stop pulling pranks on his cranky older brother? Adelaine’s conniving has everyone wishing her dead--will someone see to it that her reign of terror ends? The storyline is never dull as Rasey’s intricate plot grabs hold and doesn’t ease up for a minute. We meet some of our old friends from Lawfully Yours--Ariel’s half-sister Cherie and son Joey, with husband Ryder Storm--who make for a very special Christmas miracle. Rasey demonstrates she’s not only on her way up, but she’s here to stay. A fast paced and dynamic story, Eternally Yours is sure to have any romance lover addicted to the prose of Patrica A. Rasey.
