Well, one now has to wonder if there is going to be another book, has this story really ended? Shirley Alguire for Sensual Romance.

Patricia A. Rasey writes Eyes of Betrayal with the same grit and powerful writing as she did in the prequel Kiss of Deceit. Once again, we are brought into the lives of LeAnne and Snake, as well as the characters we had met in Kiss of Deceit. Nevertheless, we are introduced to new characters, namely Tate and Whitney and one very scary member of the Lords, Psyche, who gave me chills! The characters are all so compelling and powerful themselves, that they literally walk right off the pages and come to life. Ms. Rasey I am finding writes some of the best in-depth characters. The mystery surrounding the murders from two years ago resurface ten-fold and keep one on the edge of their seat. Did I guess who the killer might be? YES, but at the end I found out I was very wrong. Patricia A. Rasey keeps the mystery going right until the very end. I read Kiss of Deceit and Eyes of Betrayal back-to-back, but each could be savored on their own. I am eager to see if Ms. Rasey will delight us with a third book that will bring back these wonderful characters. I gave Kiss of Deceit 5 Angels and Eyes of Betrayal receives the same. But both stories are deserving of many more than that. Tracy West for Fallen Angel Reviews.
![]() Keeper ***** Drop the clutch, let’s burn out and roll! Patricia Rasey delivers the goods once again with this tight, fast paced tale of love, sex, kidnapping and murder. While this book definitely is a good stand alone read, it’s even more fun if you’ve read the first book in the series, “Kiss of Deceit”. But if you haven’t, don’t worry; it isn’t necessary to enjoy “Eyes of Betrayal”. Two years have passed since the love of LeAnne’s life roared out of it on his Fatboy. Two years of lonely, then right out of blue Marcus/Snake is back in town, with a stunningly beautiful woman on the back of his bike. And he’s brought another friend a sexy but unsavory former club biker who just got out of the big house after pulling a stint for dealing meth. They haven’t even been in town a week when the murders start happening again. The beautiful Ginnie now lays in the morgue, strangled to death in exactly the same way Marcus’s wife died two years before. Detective LeAnne McVeigh along with the rest of the small town’s sheriffs dept. struggle to deal with the reality that the man who tried to kill LeAnne wasn’t the only murder on the loose in their little town. A little town where everyone knows everyone…or at least thinks they do. Since Ginnie was instrumental in turning evidence that sent a large meth manufacturer up for many years, and the former “ole lady” of the head of one of the meanest, largest, drug dealing bunch of bad-asses on wheels, the Feds come in and take over the investigation. After all they had said they were going to protect Ginnie, just like Tate had tried to do by convincing Marcus to bring her along with them. But the Feds don’t believe it, and LeAnne becomes a “subject of interest” by association in their investigation. As does her best friend Whitney, the local doctor, since she agreed to help out Marcus’s friend, Tate/Villain, by providing him with an alibi for the night Ginnie was murdered. And in doing so, winds up putting her own life in danger, all for the crazy, magnetic attraction she finds herself lost in. When Tate calls the man who was the closest thing he ever had to family, he learns that his former club intends to use Whitney as a pawn to draw him in. He drives eight hard hours to try to get to her before they do, and walks straight into a trap. He and Whitney are kidnapped, and Whitney is thrown into a world totally alien. A world where a man’s word is the most important possession he has, where loyalty and honor ride side by side cruelty and intimidation. Patricia definitely/impressively does her homework, and her in depth research shines through in a realistically tightly woven tale that will definitely get your motor running. ![]() EYES OF BETRAYAL, the sequel to the taut KISS OF DECEIT, returns two strong characters from the first novel. The story line starts at a dark rapid speed and never slows down until the climax. Readers will wonder who killed Snake's wife and Ginny, whether the biker gang will murder townsfolk including the two women, and will either or both couples stay together if they survive. Fans of terse thrillers will want to read this one, the previous one, and what one phone call from the grave sets up the next Patricia Rasey's chiller. Reviewed by Harriet Klausner
![]() Oh, how we love Patricia A. Rasey's Biker Bad Boys! Snake Gallego returns to the small Ohio town where he left Detective LeAnne McVeigh with a broken heart. This time he roars in with his friend Egan Tate and a young woman Egan is trying to hide from the leader of their biker gang in L.A. who wants to kill her because he thinks she betrayed him. The first night they arrive in town she's murdered in her bed, and the killer has used the same MO as when Snake's wife was killed. We have Egan's sudden, overwhelming attraction to doctor/coroner Whitney Montgomery--two people who are as different as they can possibly be, and yet... On top of all this, we have another murder, the rekindled love between Snake and LeAnn, the intense (sizzling hot) sexual attraction between Egan and Whitney, and the men the head of the gang has sent to track down Egan. And make no mistake, he wants Egan brought back alive. One thing about Rasey's books--the action never stops. It's one thing after another, extremely well paced between the biker gang and romantic scenes. I've read almost all of Rasey's books to date, and I see her fast growing into a top romantic suspense/thriller author. The story never lags, even for a second. I was amazed at how much she really does have going on at the same time--quite a few subplots, but all are clear, all work on their own as well as with each other. Someone who has never read one of Rasey's books may think, oh, bikers, who cares. But in reading EYES OF BETRAYAL, you really get into the hearts and souls of these two basically decent young men who fell into this way of life, but now want out so they can live normal lives in a normal town. I truly grew to like both Snake and Egan (a lot) and found myself rooting for them all the way. Both the resolution and the surprise twist at the end left me smiling and anxious to read the next in this series. Super top-notch romantic suspense/thriller all the way!
![]() Reviewer's Choice Masterpiece 5 Flames - Collectors' Treasure "Eyes of Betrayal" is the sequel to "Kiss of Deceit" by Patricia Rasey. In the first book, Leanne has to prove Snake is innocent of killing his wife, and does that. LeAnne and Snake fell in love through investigating Jillian's murder. I couldn't wait to read more about Leanne and Snake. In "Eyes of Betrayal", Snake Gallego comes back into town with a woman on the back of his motorcycle and his friend Tate along side of him. He was away for two years. He and Tate drive up and happen to pass Leanne McVeigh. Leanne can't believe her eyes. The man she loved was back, but with a new woman. That night Virginia Summers is murdered the same way Snake's wife was killed two years prior. Back then, Leanne was the only one to believe Snake didn't kill his wife. She proved him innocent and they fell in love. He stormed out of town, not to be heard from until now. In "Eyes of Betrayal", Snake realizes what he had longed for was to make a life - that is get married and have a family - with Leanne. They make love. They each grasp what has been missing in their lives. As Leanne goes about trying to solve the murder of Virginia Summers, she tries to work things out with Snake. He tries to make peace with former friends and get his old job back. He knows he can't be with her unless he is working full time. I felt overwhelmed at the complexity and depth of emotions running through each chapter like blood running through one's veins. In this story not only do we learn more about Snake and LeAnne, there is the added dimension of another romance between Tate and the local doctor, Whitney. Tate and Whitney are kidnapped by the "Lords", the gang Tate had been involved in. They are taken to LA, where Tate has to face the head of the Lords, Randy Craig, for taking Virginia away from him. The story starts off slower than its predecessor, but by the third chapter I couldn't put it down. I had to find out what happened to the two couples and who killed Virginia. Pat Rasey is a master at keeping the story moving and interesting. She puts in all the right elements of romance, suspense and mystery. The cliff hanger's at the end of both of these stories make me anxious to read the next book in the series. Laurie Biundo, Word Museum Reviews
![]() 4 Hearts! The small-town doctor hadn’t known her friend the detective was nursing a broken heart caused by a biker. When ‘Snake’ rode into town with another biker and a beautiful woman, Whit’s education about her friend LeAnne was pushed into overdrive along with her education about life, love and preconceived notions. Eyes of Betrayal is not for the faint-hearted reader hardcore biker ‘club’ members are portrayed true to life and true to this story of betrayals upon betrayals upon betrayals. What makes it memorable is the heart that beats throughout the pages in the love that survived two years apart, in the love that never could have happened except that it has, in the emerging love of a mother and son. It beats in the loyalty and care that weave between and among the betrayals and the love, in the humor Patricia Rasey uses to force the reader to stop holding her breath. Whit knew better than to get close to Tate, the sensuously handsome man on the Harley. He knew better than to allow himself to love anyone, being on the run and likely to stay that way. Then along came the murders and the angry bikers and the FBI. Snake and LeAnne, Whit and Tate, Joe and Bob and Psycho and Crafty, Debra and Kip and more show that Ms. Rasey is an expert at developing characters who can go the distance. In small-town Ohio and big-city California, romance and friendship flourish alongside revenge and fright. Pick up Eyes of Betrayal when you’re ready to read to the end, because you won’t want to put it down until you know how it all comes together. Chas Ridley, The Romance Studio
![]() Winner of the WordWeaving Award for Excellence Two years ago "Snake" Marcus Gallego left town on his onyx Harley Davidson, taking Detective LeAnne McVeigh's heart with him. Now he returns with a raven-haired stranger that immediately captures both LeAnne and Doctor Whitney Montgomery's attention. Worse, he also brings a beautiful woman. "Villain" Egan Tate accompanies Snake on a mission to protect Virginia from her former boyfriend who happens to be a big league gang leader. Unfortunately, within twenty-four hours, Virginia is found murdered in a style reminiscent of the murder of Snake's wife. Suspicion immediately falls to Tate who does not have an alibi. Extraordinary sexual chemistry leads to an unexpected relationship between Whitney and Tate, and she eventually provides him with an alibi. That lie, even when it becomes truth, will lead to passion and gristly danger beyond her imagining. Readers of KISS OF DECEIT were aghast when author Patricia Rasey daringly broke all romantic conventions, allowing her hero to ride into the sunset without his heroine. Such a break of convention marks Rasey’s work, as she imbues her text with the harsh realities and subtle nuances that make her novels dazzle fans time and again. The fast paced EYES OF BETRAYAL continues to keep fans guessing as to the identity of a vicious murderer, echoing the unsolved killing of Snake’s wife from KISS OF DECEIT. With surgeon like precision, Rasey cuts to the heart of human motivation, revealing the striking similarities of seemingly totally disparate characters. Each scene springs vividly to life, living in the imagination long beyond when the last page is turned. Indeed, like the man she attributes to inspiring “Villain”, author Rasey writes with style and class. Fans just cannot get enough of her bad boy heroes and will be eagerly awaiting her next novel. EYES OF BETRAYAL earns the WordWeaving Award for Excellence. Cindy Penn, Senior Editor, Word Weaving,

![]() He's back! Her heart stops as she sees him ride into town on the back of his Harley. But he isn't alone, and her heart sinks as she sees the beautiful woman sitting on the seat behind him. He left town two years ago, and she knows that her feelings for him have not changed. But it sure looks like he hasn't been thinking of her, at least not in the same way. It is then that LeAnne McVeigh notices that there is another biker with Snake, as does her friend, Dr. Whitney Montgomery. The other man is Egan Tate. He is a member of the Lords of Lucifer bike club. Or was, until he took off with Randy Craig's, the Chief and founder of the Lords, girlfriend, Virginia Summers. The three of them ride past LeAnne and Whit, as they stand on the corner, without so much as an acknowledgment, and stop at a nearby bar. As Leanne watches them go into the bar she wonders what would bring Marcus "Snake" Gallego back to Napoleon, Ohio, and who is that woman he brought back with him. It won't be long before she finds out. Later, after leaving the bar, Snake, Tate, and Ginny go to Snakes house to rest up from the long ride from LA. After a short rest Snake and Tate decide to go out for some fun, but Ginny decides to stay home and get some sleep. When Snake and Tate return home later that night, it is deja vu all over again. Ginny is found in Snakes bed, tied up, beaten, raped and killed. Just like Snake's wife, Jillian, had been found two years earlier. LeAnne, being the homicide detective is called in to investigate, and with her comes Whit, as she is the Deputy Coroner. As they talk there seems to be an instant chemistry between Tate and Whit. However Whit knows it will never work. They come from completely different worlds. There are several suspects in the killing of Ginny, however one seems to stand out more than the others. Snake knows it isn't him, however he has to convince everyone else of that fact. In trying to do so he pulls others into a world that they never would have dreamed of being in. In the process getting the answers to a lot of questions that have remained unanswered for a very long time. Ms. Rasey has written a spellbinding sequel to her previous book KISS OF DECEIT. As with KISS OF DECEIT, EYES OF BETRAYAL has everything that a reader could want in a book. It has suspense, thrills, mystery, intrigue, murder, and sensual/sexual moments. Some of the characters are now old friends. They bring the same excitement, intrigue, and life to an already fascinating story. They feel real, full of passion and life. And there are some new ones, with just as much passion and life. Ms. Rasey has a special talent in making even the most hardened character very likable. She shows their vulnerability and you find yourself actually cheering them on towards their objective. EYES OF BETRAYAL starts off where KISS OF DECEIT left, answering many questions as to why certain people are the way that they are, and why things happened the way that they did. It also brings together the one couple you wished would get together, as well as opening a whole new romance for another. EYES OF BETRAYAL is a very fast paced story that reads so smoothly that you cannot put it down. You have to know what is going to happen on the next page. Before you know it you have reached that last page and are left breathless, wanting more. I highly recommend EYES OF BETRAYAL to everyone. Anyone who likes a fast paced mystery/thriller with a lot of intrigue is going to love this book. The only problem I had with Ms Rasey's EYES OF BETRAYAL, and that goes for all her books, is that she always leaves you wanting more. She just can't write them fast enough for me. ![]() I believe Patricia Rasey knows exactly how to hook a reader right from the very beginning, which is what she did with her latest thriller. Patricia pulls no punches with her books. They are gritty, realistic and down-right spine tingling. She takes us back to Napoleon, Ohio, the setting for KISS OF DECEIT, the first book that introduced us to LeAnne McVeigh and Marcus "Snake" Gallego. EYES OF BETRAYAL begins two years later with Snake rolling back into town after being gone for two long excruciating years but he's not alone. He has a fellow biker and a woman with him this time. The man is Egan Tate, a former member of The Lords of Lucifer, a motorcycle gang based out of LA and the woman is Chief Randy Craig's girl Virginia Summers. Tate and Snake decide to go out after settling Ginny in at Snake's house and when they get back they find that Ginny's been killed much in the same way that Snake's first wife was killed. What does this mean and what will LeAnne think? LeAnne's friend Whitney Montgomery is a doctor and the Deputy Coroner. She thinks Tate is a hunk but he's not her type whatsoever so why does she get all hot and tingly every time she's near him? What's Tate doing in their little town and is he a murderer? That's just what LeAnne and Whitney need to find out before anything else is said and done. Can this happen before anyone else is hurt or killed? That remains to be seen. This book had me on pins and needles throughout the whole book. I was so glad to see Leanne and Marcus (Snake) get back together. I was especially glad to see that the case from KISS OF DECEIT solved in this book but the cliffhanger ending had me clamoring for the next book in this series ASAP. Patricia Rasey can't write it fast enough for me! Kathy Boswell, Managing Editor, The Best Reviews
![]() Cold, impersonal police investigations are difficult enough, but when a personal history exists between the detective and a possible suspect and when all parties involved are tempted to “play with fire,” life sure gets interesting. Add to that, the Lords of Lucifer and the FBI both waiting in the wings and you have dynamite ready to blow sky high. Barbara Wright, Murder and Mayhen Book Club
